140 FSB a little extensive?

Just for fun I just tried setting my FSB to 140. First time I've ever been unable to post. Had to dig out my KT7 users manual and find out how to wipe the CMOS data heh. Oh well. Just clocked it up to 950 with just the multiplier...set voltage to 1.775. Running RC5 to get a full-blast temp. reading. Gonna try to post 1000.

Has anyone else realized that ppl have suddenly started misusing ghz? Ghz should be 1024 MHZ correct? Not 1000.

wish me luck!

Actually you are incorrect. Only when dealing with bits and bytes is the kilo prefix 1024. In truth kilo is 1000 (10^3) mega is 1,000,000 (10^6) and giga is 1,000,000,000 (10^9)

In computers kilo is 1024 which is 2^10, mega is 1024^2, and giga is 1024^3. Only when dealing with computer stuff is it this way.

Actually kilo in computers is 2^10, mega is 2^20 and giga is 2^30. Works out the same as 1024^2 and 1024^3 but it is easier to write it out the other way.

I'm trying to predict if i'll be able to go well over 900mhz with my 600e (1.65v). I can run stable at 840 with the stock hsf.

If i spend about $80 on a new peltier/alphap3125 cooling setup, and up the voltage, I might get close to a gigahertz.

OR... should I spend 25 bucks on a TIdal pool waterblock to finish my water cooling project, and use it with the peltier.

What stepping is the CPU? cB0?

I have a cA2 600E that does 840 at 1.70. It won't go higher no matter what voltage (well I didn't try 1.85 and above).
