Freddy Adu is playing in his first Professional Soccer game right now. It?s on abc right now, history in the making. Here is a Link with some info. He also makes 500,000 Bucks a year.

Seems that physically he just couldnt compete, everytime he touched the ball, the bigger defenders just used their size advantage to take the ball away.

If he's playing in the pros at 14, he's going to seriously kick ass by the time he comes of age/size like the rest of them! :Q

Look how small he is. Imagine how nervous you would be at 14 playing with a bunch of professionals that are 20-30 years old. I think he did awesome and competed very well.

Skillwise, he is there. Give him 6-10 years to build his body up, and we are looking at a VERY VERY good player.

there are a bunch of naysayers with regard to Adu's age because of supposed poor documentation in Ghana. Regardless, he's going to be a soccer icon in the years to come.

He doesn't look retarded to me -- he just looks way older than 14. I heard him talk -- he sounds well spoken and intelligent.

I always wondered what would happen if somebody decided to pull a scam and go back to high school and claimed he was younger than he really was. And he tried out for the football team and stuff...

Size is not everything in soccer, but trial by fire will be good for him.

His body looks 14 his face looks 30. I really think he is 14 there is no real reason to lie. It would be to easy to uncover and cause a negative reaction against the sport.

He is like an offensive weapon or something. Well that?s what I got from watching how they used him. They set him up for single coverage like all these other pro's didnt stand a chance of covering him 1 on 1.

I?m American....(never watched much soccer), this is more exciting than when the US did well in the world cup a bunch of years ago. This kid could definitely draw American fans in, I mean really, and not like they tried with that Bechum (sp?) dude.

I think by the time he's big enough, his body will be worn down. Ever see what happens to those gymnasts by the time they're 25?
