Discussion 14" vs 15.6" 1080p

So I'm thinking of saving for a new or not so new notebook and I am looking at two Lenovo laptops with Ryzen 2500U APUs:

So this is a portability vs usability issue for me given the two screens sizes at 1080p. I don't really need a DVD burner however nice to have, but the larger screen and keyboard are far more useful features. On the other hand, the smaller Thinkpad would be easier to carry around and I can live with a 14" display and the keypad.

Of course I could simply upgrade my Thinkpad T430 for ~$200 instead. Perhaps I will do that instead.

if text on the 14" screen are too small, you can always increase text size. I had a 13" laptop with the 1080p (it stopped working, and didn't bother to figure out why) and went to a 15", I do miss the smaller size because of the portability

@JWade Any more advice you can give me on notebooks? I brought my refurb T430 for $160 about two or three years ago to check out Linux distros on bare metal. For uses beyond that I would want more memory and a decent size SSD at least.

Before I purchased my Thinkpad I never had a laptop before or even used one at that much.

i like a metal case over plastic material, but my 13" was plastic, i had two ac adapters, one i used for travelling, one i used at home. that way i also if one broke i had a backup

Yeah I might consider getting an extra AC adapter depending on price as well.

I would go with the bigger screen IF Iwas to use it for media / games. 14" is so small. If u need longer use and easier to carry then of course get a 14". I have no issues carrying a 17" laptop. Sure it's so big but fits in my same bag as a 14" but the battery life sucks
