We were in Value Village (called Savers in some parts of the US) looking for some deals when I came across an almost new looking N64 system. Still in it's box and styrofoam (though the box was rather damaged). It had obviously been used for some time but there were no marks or scratches on it anywhere. It came with one controller, power adaptor and an RF connector (not the RCA connector unfortunately and not the original RF connector either this looks like a cheaper 3rd party one). Anyway I hooked it up with a game to a TV they had an it all seemed to work fine. I also picked up a spare controller with rumble pack they had bagged up hanging on a hook for $3.99. All in all seems like a fairly good price. What do you think?

If you want it and have that much money... then go for it. What difference does it make what we say?

I thought about trying to find a cheap N64, but I think now I'm just going to buy a controller and usb adapter for my pc.

Good deal. I paid $40 for one on Ebay last year, came with 10 games, a couple of good ones, and 3 controllers. I'd say that probably $15 or $20 was for the system.

Going rate on eBay seems to be around $30 to $40 for one (shipping scams factored in), so yeah, that's a vary good deal.

I've been considering starting a vintage system collection myself.

The rca cable for the Gamecube and Wii are both the same as the N64 one, so if you own either of those you can just use the same cable.

That's a pretty good price, see if you can get a box in good condition from eBay and that will help increase the price of your investment.

Have you played any other games in the Zelda series? Have you played other games on the N64 before? Perhaps you just don't like Nintendo games in general or Zelda games specifically? I for one LOVE the Zelda franchise and while I can see arguing against OoT being the best game ever I would rate it pretty damn highly.

What types of games do you tend to enjoy? Platformers, FPSs, RTSs, strategy, action, adventure?....

Huh didn't know that, thanks. I have the Wii so I'll have to try that.

Umm, that game doesn't even exist. Are you thinking Ocarina of Time? One of the greatest games in gaming history? Actually I didn't like it at first but now it's on my top five list. I have both N64 Zelda titles. Both were fantastic.

SNES, N64, and Gamecube all use the same one. The Wii one is differant.
