What would look better on a 1366x768 set, 720p or 1080i? They both have to scale.

720p, it will already scale down the image from 1080i anyways.

With 720p you won't have interlacing errors.

It also depends on how good of a deinterlacer your set has. Just mess around with both settings and see which looks better.

On the 537H I have, using a upscaling DVD player, most movies look better @ 1080i...at least the few I've tried. I haven't viewed any HD content on it yet...

Possible sign that your tv has a better de-interlacer than the dvd player?

For me, 1080i looks better on content from the Discovery Channel & 720p looks better for sports.
