133mhz FSB Thunderbird?

I just ordered a KT7A mainboard.

You can get a 100FSB Tbird and underclock it and run it @ 133FSB. save you some doe as the new 133 Tbirds will be more money and not any better.

Anything printed as having a 266MHz FSB should be a 133MHz bus speed. Of course, you will have to decide how reliable this retailer information is.

If you can go to a store ask to see the CPU before you buy it and check that it is a 133MHz FSB chip (ie. core id 'C' I think which is printed on the top of the chip).

There is a 266MHz FSB Athlon, and it is faster...
Problem is you need a KT133A, AMD760 or ALiMagik board to use it. It is a lot faster though... approaching 10%.

10% where did you get this info?? anyways 10% dosent justify paying double what a 200 fsb Tbird would cost.

Just search "Athlon 266 FSB" and I came up with little blurbs on release dates in Nov and the prices.

From what I understand, I can crank a regular Tbird up to 133 easy on a KT7A. I just wish I knew wtf I was doing.

Felonious theres a few guys on these boards that sell Tbirds unlocked Compuwiz1 to name one. Then all you gotta do is pop it in and ajust your bios.

You're Crazy!! It is no different. The processor has never been the issue. What has ever limited the processor was the fact that the chipset was not set up for it. Read around elsewhere, it will just be the "official" t-bird that supports 266(133) You will always be able to manipulate that with the multiplier as will still be the case to set it up properly in the bios. BEEEEEEEEESIDES.....the 266(133) does'nt relate to speed necessarily, just what bus is supports.

Thank you. That's what I thought at first but people started posting stuff about the "new" athlon which is a legitimate cause for concern while I have my credit card in my hand.
