Is there a chance I can use 1333MHz RAM with an Ahtlon 5400+?
I kind of wanted to go cheap and buy a socket AM3+ motherboard because of random reboots. Anyway, I read the 5400+ can use 800MHz RAM. I'm asking because the motherboard I wanted does not take 800MHz RAM. But, I was thinking of using the new mobo and new 1333MHz RAM. So, would the 1333MHz RAM work at 800MHz, or would it not work at all with the 5400+ CPU?
It's kind of a weird situation because on the other hand, I could always take my RAM and put it on a brand new Asus P5Q motherboard I have. I wasn't sure if I wanted to sell it on eBay or not. (I bought it on eBay and may end up reselling it. Only thing though is I temporarilly bent the front audio panel pins while cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. So then I'd have to disclose this on eBay so I don't know if I'll get a fair price for it.)
On a side note, I've been watching the financial news for the last 3 years and I believe the economy will go to the toilet in 6 months so I'd prefer saving money to invest later.
