I got a tbred 1700+ rev B, epox 8RDA+ nforce2 mobo and 3 crucial PC2100 DDR. is it better to run the FSB @ 166mhz or just leave it @ 133mhz? i don't want to OC the memory.

You don't have much of a choice if you are using the PC2100 memory. It runs @ 133mhz and any attempt to OC would require raising the FSB.

Since you have a Tbred revB and a Nforce2 board, you can easily lower the multiplier and increase the FSB. However, how far you go depends on how the memory performs at the higher FSB.

Another possibility is raising the multiplier while leaving the FSB at 133. Then you can OC the CPU while not overclocking the memory. Peace.

but ocing the fsb yields more favorable results

however its crucial ram...relax the timings and see how high you can go

run memtest86 to see if you get any ram errors
