Awhile back someone was bragging about their GPS clocked speed of 120mph, I had all but forgotten that i had gotten this reading on my way back from
North Branch, New Jersey eary last year!

So here is mine!
http://gallery.is12.net//thumbnails.php?album=98

So two things:

1. I did this speed for about 45 minutes straight through New York just north of NY City.
2. There was a guy in a Cadillac Escalade who was ahead of me the whole damn time.
3 Yes I know the highway isn't a race track...so before people go complaining about it..don't.

Was driving a Mitsubishi Diamante (rental car) and i was thinking, does this guy in front of me realize how fast we are going?
And if he does...is he starring in his rear view mirror asking who the hell is this guy in the Mitsu chasing me?!?! :)

You have balls. Given the number of cops I see in Alabama (probably similar to the rest of the US) I would be hard pressed to top 100 for a long distance cruise, and only with at least two extra cars to help deflect attention from myself - and I'd go far behind them.

I was on a business trip for work and had been slated to be gone for three weeks. Missed the wife (at the time) and the kids and wanted to get home ASAP. If I left on the night I did, it cut my trip down by about 4 days, when i hit the highway I was flying! I think i averaged near 90mph the whole trip. Thats a real bitch to do, hit one toll booth and you have to do 110mph to make up for it for like an hour.

The distance from my house to North Branch was 450 miles. I left the office at 7:00pm and I was home by 12:00pm. And that was stopping for gas, tolls and the Geo Washington Bridge traffic. :)

My old car wouldnt go above 115 :(. I did that on Interstate 10 for about 20 mins...... No traffic, that was a rush....

BTW, the highway isnt a race track and I hope you like your dvds :D.

I once did a 300 mile trip (from school to home) in exactly 3 hours! Was able to get in the middle of a group of fast sports cars doing 100+ down californias I-5. It was about midnight so I wasn't to worried about cops.

I wish the cops around here only did speed traps during normal business hours. :(

While the highway isn't a race track, I do find it plain nuts that the speeds were driven in the DARK! Fortunately, the deer and potholes in the road - were not out an about for you, and the guy in the Escalade that evening.

Escalades work well to knock deer out of the way :)

My speed limiter kicks in at 94mph...I'm cool with that...considering I drive this.
