$1300 PC for 3D MODELING!!!

I want to buy a PC for $1300 (including a 24-27" monitor) and I want to use it for:
- 3D modeling with Maya and Zbrush
- Video editing with Adobe Premiére, After Effects and Sony vegas

Here are my initial thoughts and doubts:
Intel i7 4770 / Xeon 1230v3
MB: MSI B85M E45
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
2x8Gb DDR3 1600
Kingston V300 120Gb SSD
Case Zalman T3
PSU: Corsair 550W
GeForce GTX760 OC 2GB // AMD R9 280 3GB
Monitor i've not decided yet

.....Some say AMD is a little better for Maya, but Nvidia has CUDA for After Effects....😕😕😕

Ideas?

Your build is pretty reasonable in terms of parts selection, but without knowing the prices you're seeing, it's hard to say if you're getting a good deal.

Main thing that I would quibble over is the SSD. The V300's in the market today are slower than the ones that were originally benchmarked because Kingston got sneaky and changed the NAND type without changing the model. There normally not even the cheapest right now, so at 120GB capacity, I'd go with this PNY XLR8 for $60.

Also, we need to know how much you're spending on the current parts to know how much is left for the monitor and/or if some money should be reallocated from other parts to the monitor.

Actually I had to quit the SSD because the end-user of this PC is going to install a lot of software, and 120GB isn't enough.

Instead, I put TWO normal HDD, one for software and SO and another for videos and resources.

Here is my current thinking:

Have you considered what going beyond 1080p would do for you? You should obtain a 28-30" 1440p monitor and build the rest of the system around that.
