1300 AUD isn't enough for high end gaming. It's a mid range rig - 1080p is a mid range resolution and the budget isn't high enough to afford a high end graphics card and a 240+ GB SSD for games, not to mention a 4790K and SLI/CFX compatible motherboard and PSU (though i5 and non-SLI/CFX hardware are fine for 1080p).

Do you already have an internal hard disk? 120GB is not enough for a gaming system, but it is enough for just the OS and a couple of games. I would avoid the V300, it's junk, the HyperX Fury SSD is much better and doesn't cost much more.

Aerocool's Strike-X PSUs aren't very good quality, so let's change that too.

R9 280X isn't worth buying over R9 280 at the store's prices. 30% more cost for this? No thanks. I think you have two choices: R9 280 plus SSD, or R9 290 without SSD. R9 290 performs around 50% better than R9 280, so it would definitely make a huge impact on the gaming experience. Gaming rigs have been fine without SSD's in the past, so I would be leaning towards buying the R9 290.

Here's the base build:

Leaves ~$400 for GPU and optionally SSD.
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X $409, or
Gigabyte R9 280 3GB $269 + HyperX Fury 120GB $85 = $354, or
Gigabyte R9 280 3GB $269 + BX100 250GB $149 = $418

If you want a quiet CPU at load: Be Quiet! Pure Rock $45 (should just fit into the case, it's 155mm tall, exactly at the case's max height spec for CPU coolers)

If you need storage disk: WD Blue 1TB $75

Obviously, by June some components may be out of stock or discontinued or changed in price, so some changes may need to be made.

Thanks lehtv

I have a 1 terabyte hard drive along with windows 7.

I have now changed my build to this how does it look:

SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD In stock $85.00

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 Overclocked 3GB $269.00

Monitor: BenQ GL2450HT 24in Widescreen LED Monitor $229.00

CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 $279.00

Case: Thermaltake Black Versa H25 Mid Tower Chassis $55.00

PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W Power Supply $119.00

Motherboard: MSI B85M-E45 Motherboard $89.00

RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury HX318C10FBK2/8 8GB (2x4GB) Black $99.00

Total $1,224.00

You have enough room in the budget to grab the BX100 250GB, which I would definitely do. A 120GB drive fills up quick.

I would insist on the RL2455HM over GL2450HT, it has very low lag which is nice for gamers.
