Hello, I've come to realize just how outdated my Q8200(@3.2ghz)/8gb/gtx460 is when I used a friends i3-2100/4gb/9800gtx.

I really don't play new games and or do much editing.

I came across a local electronics recycler that sells a lot of older systems. They had a lot of Q8200s, e8400s, e7500s, AMDs and four or five i7 900 somethings (2.66 or 67ghz I believe).

The only thing that stood out was a package with an i3-2120 (stock cooler), 4gb ddr3 and a micro-atx mobo (didn't really look at it that close).

Is $130 a fair price for that?

Also, were there any crazy deals last Black Friday? I wouldn't mind an i5 setup on a slick deal.

I don't think that i3 would be much if any of an upgrade over a Q8200 at 3.2 ghz. I suppose you could gain 20% or so in lightly threaded tasks due to the higher IPC, and save quite a bit of power. The price seems decent if you trust used components. Personally, unless there is some problem with your current system, I don't think I would bother.

Decent chip & price (considering you get it all together including ram). It's not much of an upgrade tho.
