Yet another incident w/a pit bull, and people STILL think these dogs are safe. I am an animal lover, but these dogs just aren't safe to have around kids.

Isn't the city of Denver working to outlaw owning a pit bull in the city limits?

I had a dog run out after me on my bike a while ago. I had a water bottle with grapefruit juice and water in it so I gave him a good squirt in the eyes with it. Stopped him pretty quick.

hmm let's see pit bull without a leash. i blame the owner not the pit bull.
any dog can be dangerous. i have owned a pit bull, and i would never have let him off the leash outside.

i have a pit bull but it's one of the nicest dogs in the world. when people come and visit that it's never met it just jumps on them and rolls around on it's belly that's it, blaming pit-bulls is like blaming GTA for kids killing people, owners fault

some pits will grow up to be extremely nice.

but the truth is they have been bred for centuries to be fighters/killers. to fight in the "pit". It is with this knowledge that you should be a careful pit owner. proper training can/should be able to keep them under control. but when they reach maturity even training may not be enough. it's a genetics crap shoot as far as agressiveness goes.


i'm willing to bet the moron that owned this pit didn't even have him neutered. that tends to keep dogs much less aggressive. wouldn't you be?

yeah but you generally don't hear about golden retrievers or labrodors mauling kids and whatnot.

..get rid of the fuggers. Their LAND SHARKS!!..insurance companies are limiting their liability by not renewing home owner ins.once they find out the home owner owns a litigation risk like a pitbull..and landlords are effected by the same insurance restrictions and will enforce a flatout no dog policy due to the litigation risk.

That's a terrrible analogy. Some people THINK that violent video games encourage young people to kill - but there's no real proof. It's mostly conjecture. There is absolutely no doubt that pit bulls kill people - it happens several times a year, and it happens much more often than with any other breed of dog. Is it the owner's fault? Did the owner run out and drag that kid off his bike and attack him? NO. IT WAS THE PIT BULL.

And you know what? Every time this happens the owner always says the same thing: "AW, MEATTHRASHER DON'T MEAN NO HARM. HE AIN'T NEVER HURT ME NONE. HE'S A GOOD DAWG.".

Where I lived when I was a kid, there were two dogs that liked to knock kids off bikes, A realy big black Lab, and a German Shepherd. The one Pit Bull's agressiveness to people was he jumped on them trying to kiss them. The Shepherd was a mean one to anyone it didn't like. One kid tried to outrun her on his 10 Speed and he found out, it wasn't possible, and got knocked off and chewed on pretty badly.

Now as far as other dogs went, that Pit was plenty aggressive. For some reason though, he and my Beagelwere big buds and had a lot of fun together.

Pit Bulls are just like any other powerful dog, some are bad and can do major damage. Most are great. Breed bans are really really stupid.

In all honesty, I'm glad one cop had enough sense to just shoot the damn thing.

I saw that on a TV show. That cat cat went ballistic and bit him right in the crotch.

Then there was that cat that had to be shot 3 or 4 times because it was trying to kill it's owners.

Then there was that house cat that kicked the crap out of a burglar. Good kitty.
