The death toll is up to 1700 civilians.

That is now more than were killed by Israel during the First intifada and yet not a word for all the people who bash Israel at every turn...

If you hate Israel for all the bad things it has done to Muslims then why are you silent on this?

honestly, nobody cares. let them kill each other. the arab world gets pissed when we get involved and they get pissed when we don't get involved. fsck 'em, let them deal with their own problems while we bitch and moan like school children about our problems. we don't have the funds to pay for another war anyway.

we are doing a bangup job in libya anyway, why create more discourse and anti-americanism? i really wish that i had gone on record stating that our dealings in Libya would end in disaster. i'm going to laugh my ass off when Ghaddafi asks for reparations for bombing the shit out of his country.

I am not bitching about Libya, at least not the fact that we took action.

The problem is that we have no idea WTF we are doing in Libya and Obama can't even explain why we are there.

Funny how the President who bitched about Iraq and claimed he would not have voted for the war goes and gets us involved in one that has nothing to do with our long well being.

Yeah right, as if we have boots on the ground or are even flying sorties now. Face it asshole, if Obama does it you are against it no matter what

I actually defended his actions early on.
My FIRST comment on the missile launch
It is a shame we didn't do this when it could have made a difference.

Now it looks like the best we can do is stop the Libyan offensive and end up with a divided Libya.
In response to some loony thread started by a nut job.
Gaddafi has probably killed 10 times as many of his people as we have.

In the long run our actions will saves hundreds if not thousands of lives.
And my explanation as to why the 'right' is against Libya.
The right hasn't suddenly become anti-war.

They are just anti-Democrat-started-war. And that is due to the fact that Democrats have a tendency to get us involved in wars that have nothing to do with our overall national interests.

We have no national interest in Libya. And if we are suddenly interested in over throwing dictators then why aren't we going after them all over the world? And why was Obama giving grand speeches against what we are doing in Libya just two years ago?

Obama backed himself into a corner and can't figure out how to talk himself out of it.
So the question now is are you going to man up admit that you were wrong?

Non Prof John is moaning and groaning on the false promise that Israeli critics look silently on with approval as Assad in Syria butchers his own people.

Well jonney, I think I am as card carrying present Israeli government critic, but I am also on record as saying Assad in Syria and Kaddafi in Libya have to go as well. I alos went on record that Mubarak in Egypt had to go as well, and at least Murarak is gone.

At the same time Israel was backing Mubarak to the hilt. Then in your opening post you say, "That (1700) is now more than were killed by Israel during the First intifada and yet not a word for all the people who bash Israel at every turn..." But you conveniently forget the 4000 Lebanese civilians killed during the rape of Lebanon and the additional
1000 Gaza civilians killed during the war crime filled illegal collective punishment in the recent rape of Gaza. By my count, Israeli has killed at least 6000 innocent civilians, making Assad only 29% as bad as Israel.

So in your own words, Non Prof John, the question now is are you going to man up admit that you were wrong?"

There is little the U.S can do in Syria, certainly not through the U.N. Russia and China don't want to harm the Assad regime. Assad is supposedly one of the most respected leaders in the Arab world because he has stood up against the evil U.S of A and its ally Israel.
