That doesn't mean anything. If they didn't report the correction then their ass would be toast.

please learn or read before speaking like this. Find my post at 2:48am ET this morning. They had no choice in reporting a correction... the breaking news was handed to them on a silver platter on live television.Originally posted by: zoiks

holy f^ck get over it. THe only mistake I made was not adding a smiley to that. I'm not defending anyone in the media or even the authorities. Everything I've stated since 3am this morning in this thread was just factual information.Originally posted by: zoiks

So? I'll quote what you said.
"for what it's worth, CNN was first to report the opposite as well"
It sounds like you were defending CNN for being the first to report the correction. Now you're saying that they had no choice?
Maybe you need to read what you type yourself.

So let's get something straight... am I defending the media or were you wrong ? Did you try and call me out without knowing what happened earlier when it's in fvcking black and white for you ? What does sucking something have to do with it ? Go on, continue your antics... it wouldn't be the first thread you've done it in. "Name-calling" after asking me to suck something... that's comical.Originally posted by: zoiks

Why the hell didnt the reporters wait to get CONFIRMED results before reporting the news? You know, isn't getting all the facts before you make such a claim the first rule of journalism? I feel bad for those 12 families.
Proof CNN said that 12 were alive
Idiot.
Why are you calling him an idiot???
edit: for what it's worth, News media seems to care more about who gets the story out first than with accuracy. Remember 9/11 and how many were "dead"... it started around 10k and slowly dropped. Sensationalism sells, and the simple rumor that 12 were alive was reason enough (for CNN and other news broadcasters) to broadcast this story.

LOL... how ironic you say that... it was the whole cause of your misunderstanding... the one you won't admit to even though I tried to let you down softly at first with the "please read". But no, you had to push it.Originally posted by: zoiks

Yes why are you calling me an idiot? It's not my fault that CNN and other news reporters got the story wrong.
Look, when it comes to this magnitude of a story, you better be damn sure that what you are reporting are facts. Reporters arent supposed to make rumors headlines. That's what the tabloids are for. CNN messed up whether it was due to misinformation or something else. It's one thing to be the "first to break the story", but if you are a reputable news source, you should be 99.9% sure what you are putting on your website is accurate.

The governor of the freaking state confirmed that these guys were alive. Who do you want CNN to call, the president? No, CNN did NOT mess up. They were given information from official sources and they reported it. They were not being sensationalistic, they were reporting the news that they were told.
Stop being such an idiot. If you had one once of clue as to how the media worked you would not be posting what you did.
