13 American commandos killed in Afghanistan raid
2002-09-03 11:00:52

Azzam News
3 September 2002

Thirteen American commandos were killed in a botched raid on a
village in the Lakhnor region of Khost on Sunday.

In the operation, the Americans attempted to attack the Aab Khail
village without the help of locals. Tribesmen waiting in bunkers
retaliated fiercely and the ensuing gun battle that lasted for over
six hours killed thirteen Americans and wounded others who were able
to flee back to their base.

When news of the defeat came to the local US headquarters, American
planes literally levelled the village of Aab Khail. However, there
was no loss of life as the tribesmen, expecting indiscriminate
American retaliation, had already vacated the village before the
bombing.

Elsewhere in Khost, rockets were fired at Khost Airport, striking the
residential barracks of the coalition forces. No information is
available yet on casualties.

That reads like propaganda, as opposed to a legit news story. I would wait for confirmation from other sources before taking this one without a grain of salt.

Yes... I am very doubtful that this is legit considering the source. And nothing can kill 13 American commandos, much less a bunch of tribesmen. (BHD anyone?)

This is funny. Here's another fairy tale from this site:

Khost (Azzam), July 29: According to reliable sources US Troops had been in an area east of Khost when at midday local time, they were ambushed by a 14 year old Afghan child who managed to kill four US soldiers. US Forces retaliated swiftly by bombing the region killing at least two children, including the 14 year old Afghan child.

After the bombing, US Forces attacked the Ayub Khail Tribe, which the 14 year old Afghan child belonged to. The local tribesman defended themselves and in this fierce fight managed to kill at least eight more US Troops. Three Afghan tribesman were taken as martyrs. US Forces have now received reinforcements and have laid siege on the village. The situation is very intense.

All it takes is a trigger finger and a shoulder. A teenager has already killed a US soldier in Afghanistan, if you'll recall from a few months ago.

Not that the rest of the tripe above isn't propaganda. Just pointing out that children can be just as deadly as an adult with the right situation. The US also learned that lesson in Vietnam.

Haha, total BS. They are desperate for good news because they are getting their asses kicked.
