Couldn't find this exact price range in previous threads so I started a new one.
My mom's going back to school and she'd like a new laptop to carry around for taking notes, writing papers etc. I had her try the surface pro to see if she likes it but she had typing issues (the keyboard is too small) even with the type cover. So what I'm looking for is an affordable ultrabook that she can carry around with her. It doesn't have to be haswell since i'm sure she won't be using it on battery for more than a couple of hours at a time. Requirements:
1) Light - ~3-4lbs
2) 13.3" - Seems to be the perfect balance between portability and usability
3) Decent Screen - At LEAST 1600x900 resolution so she has some useable desktop space
4) 4-5 hours battery life
5) Decent quality - Something that won't fall apart after 1 year
5) Price: 600-700 but the cheaper the better
Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously graphics are not a consideration so integrated graphics are just fine. I was thinking a previous generation asus, acer or dell but I can't seem to find one that exactly fits the bill. I'd consider Sony or Lenovo too since I get a corporate discount on them.
