I have a load of 16.32V right now on my +12V rail... I'm assuming that is pretty bad, huh?

I have the following...

4 x 200GB Seagate SATA (RAID 5)
1 x 80GB WD PATA
1 x NEC DVD+-RW
1 x 120GB PATA
2 x 250GB SATA (RAID 1)
1 x 200GB SATA (Main Drive)

This is just the hard drives...
I also have the following add-in cards....

1 x USB card
1 x SATA RAID 5 card
1 x Asus Wireless AP card
1 x ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128MB

Mobo: Asus A8V Deluxe
Cpu: Athlon 64 3500+
Ram: 4 x 512MB Crucial (2GB total)
Psu: Cooler Master 450W Real Power w/ 12A + 10A on +12V rails....

Oh yea, and a couple of fans...

16.23 is not a "load" it's your voltage (load is power usalge measured in amps or watts).

The voltage is not affected by the amount of power you're drawing except indirectly - if you're drawing more power than the PSU can supply, then the PSU's voltage regulation can go to hell - usually the voltage drops.

16.23 is a terribly high voltage for the 12 volt rail IF that's the actual voltage. Voltage on the 5 and 12 v rail's should be within 5% of normal.

If you're getting this measurement through a 3rd party mother board monitor program, I's say it's very questionable. You'll get a more accurate reading using the motbo manufacturer's own voltage monitor (Asus usually provides one called Asus Probe) or by booting into the BIOS Setup and checking the voltages in the PC Heath menu.

HOWEVER, onboard voltage and temperature measurement chips are notoriously unreliable, so I wouldn't even go by that. The best way to know what's going on is to use a digital multimeter (you can buy one for $30 at Radio Shack) and measure the voltage between the yellow and black wires on one of the spare hard drive power connectors (measuring between the red and the black wires will give you the 5 volt rail voltage).

12 volt rail should be between 11.4 and 12.6 volts
5 volt rail should be between 4.75 and 5.25 volts

thanks! I was using MotherBoard Monitor 5, and I went into bios and saw it was only like 12.288 or something...so not too bad... but the problem is that my hard drives don't all show up in my computer.... I might mention that I have all those hard drives and everything powered by a 450W PSU... Can I hook up a dual PSU?

that is a pic of the little connector which I assume is used to power on the 2nd psu...
