OK, this might be a stupid question, but a friend of mine is looking to build a second PC. He's looking at cases now, but we're not sure if the PSU that comes with them has a secondary 12V connector, which is required by the Shuttle AN35N board. The pictures on Newegg aren't visible enough to see if it has one or not, but is this now a standard connector on PSUs? If the PSU says "ATX12V" would that indicate that it does have this connector? Thanks for any advice!

At this point, it should be pretty much a foregone conclusion that they all have one (yeah, famous last words). I don't want to upset the apple cart, but I hope you're buying something that has a quality reputation, and not a case that comes with a marginal flyweight cheapie PSU  I'd buy an Antec SL350 to accompany the case of my choice before I'd use a cheapie that came with the case. But I'm just crazy like that

IIRC, they call those things P4 connectors. Do you have a link to the PSU on Newegg? Can you go to the corporate website and check it out there?

It will say "P4 Ready" if it has one
I think at this point it would be hard to buy any powersupply that didnt have it.

Thanks everyone. I thought any PSU deemed as "P4 Ready" was what I was looking for, but I wasn't sure.

And to MechBgon: I agree with you completely. I have encouraged him to spend a little more and get a better quality unit. Trying to troubleshoot a PC misbehaving because of an unstable PSU is not fun. I'm an Antec fan myself so naturally I'm trying to lead him down that road. :)

Thanks again!
