Agreed, the HC520 12TB for $75 is the way to go when it drops back to that price. Some discussion is in the storage forum if you're interested:

If anyone is looking for bulk storage this is a pretty good deal. In the past when I have bought refurbed enterprise class drives if you buy early the drive may be new backup drives that were spares that never got used. I don't know how many back up drives are generally kept on hand. HGST...

These 12TB HC520 HUH721212ALE601 drives are available again at $74.00 each from goHardDrive Wholesale on their eBay site here if anyone wants some. Comes out to $6.17/TB which isn't a bad price without a coupon available.

Never done it before, but it doesn't say that you have to purchase anything from them to do it. They'll also send you a 15% off coupon for their webstore as well.
