I Cant wait for Homeworld2 too come out it use's OpenGL and will run better on my FX5900 card then any ATI9800 card around Cause OpenGL runs better on nvidia hardware that?s why the Quadro range of cards blow the ATI Fire GL?s out of the water.... Far more powerful Open GL GPU's and all the apps use Open GL.
As for halflife2 .. i dont give a rates Bumb about it .... i never really liked the first game but i did love playing CS, TFC, Sven Co-op Natural Selection .. pretty much all the mods .... and by the time they all get around to Full version stage ( Not Beta ) i'll be upgraded my PC too something that gives me 100PFS + in these mods.
If you people think u will be playing these mods on a card out today .. your kidding yourself ....
Half Life 1 runs fine on a Voodoo2 and a TNT2 ... very playable frame rates .. OK i would like too see someone out there try and Play Day of defeat, Natural Selection or Counter-Strike on a Voodoo2 or TNT and still get playable frame rates .. you will be lucky too get 5FPS at most.
and these are the same Videocards that ran Half-Life 1 ... at 40+ Frames but they fall too there knees on the mods .. same thing will happen with Half-Life2.
Enough Said. .... 🙂 but i do kinda still wish i got an ATI9800 instead of a FX5900..
