Hi all!

> ASUS AGP GFX V9570TD GFX-5700 256M

1- Is it a good video card?
2- Is it better compare to an ASUS Ti4200 GeForce4 128Mo ? Big differences ??

3- Which card should I buy to be prepared for Doom III and Half Life 2 and all the upcoming games of the Fall ??

thanks

To play the games with many settings turned up so that it looks atleast somewhat nice you will need a ~2.5ghz cpu w/ 512 (preferably a gig) of ram and arund a 9700/5900xt type of card.

the card u were speaking of is a good card, dont get me wrong. but, you wont use 256 mb of ram on that card. Its a waste to get that high in ram with a card that wont even be able to utalize much at all. Furthermore, the card is beter then the 4200. It has DX9 shaders, more memory bandwidth, more fill rate, etc. The difference is NOT night and day between the two, but more like 30% difference in frames at most. But i would probably go a bit higher on what i chose for a card. If you have unlimited funds, get either a x800 pro, x800 xt, or 6800 (any of the series). These cards are good and will serve u well. If you are on a budget of around $200, get the 9800 pro, budget of $170ish get the 5900xt, budget of $115ish get the 9800pro, budget of $60-$80 get the GF4ti4200. Those are the cards to get at each budget level.
