This ram rocks, some ppl got it to run at 160mhz 2-2-2 (others have told me up to 166mhz 2-2-2).
can't beat that price :D

Good find.....I just got some of Skorpram in the for/sale forum and everyone says that these rock. This is cheaper than what Skorpion1Gee could do for me. Wish you posted this 2 days earlier. Bump for an awesome find!!! Nice work junior.

I heard somewhere that using double sided memory on the 815 chipset will cause problems... I have 2 sticks of these babies and am just wondering. I have a CUSL2 mobo and sometimes it will detect 256MB and sometimes only 192MB. I would like to get another piece for the 3rd slot but not sure if it will work. Any thoughts?

I haven't had any problem running two double sided sticks of mosel on my cusl2. Always comes up as 256mb. On www.cusl2.com I've read that many people are running 3 sticks of mushkin just fine. It might be that they're running 3 sticks of rev3 (which I believe is single sided). But I also think some have claimed that they are running 3 sticks of rev2 (double-sided) just fine.

Also, the CUSL2 is supposedly the only 815E board that runs alright with all 3 banks filled. Supposedly they engineered it that way or so I have read.

160 MHz 2-2-2??! I don't think so...be careful about posting specs that the seller doesn't advertise and/or guarantee. Read below to find out why...

Check the performance of these $85 memman 128MB DIMMS here and here. Keep in mind that the DIMMS reviewed in these links are memman modules which are different than the DIMMS sold by kdcomputers.

Mushkin uses the exact same memory chips from Mosel on their 128MB PC133 Rev1.5 and Rev2.0 modules, but the modules perform slightly different. My $88 128MB Rev1.5 can't do 150 MHz 2-2-2, Rev2.0 can do 150 MHz 2-2-2 and then some (try 160 2-2-2 for size, see here).

Mosel chips have a significant range of process yield. Therefore, the end performance of DIMM's based on this chip are dependent upon the yield of the chips used and quality of other DIMM components and the assembly/fab process. These modules from kdscomputers are probably low-end yield chips and will not do anything close to 150 2-2-2. They will probably be on par (or lower) with mushkin Rev1.5 which does 133-143 MHz 2-2-2 with out any problems. Mushkin Rev2 has the only bona fide 160+ MHz 2-2-2 that I have seen, and mushkin doesn't guarantee that kind of performance. Also, these DIMMS are quite a bit more expensive than Rev1.5 or kdcomputers stuff.

If you want to be sure of getting 150+ 2-2-2 you'll have to go with mushkin rev2 or, better yet, rev3, or an equivalent from another manufacturer.

More than 2 double sided sticks of RAM can cause problems with the i815- not always, but sometimes it have been known to. 3 single sided sticks of RAM are fine in the i815.

i have 2 of these sticks from kd computers and have seen do 148mhz on all the fastest setings, that is the limmit of my kt7-raid, they might do more. the spd reads them as apacer pc100 cas2, pc-133 cas3, my guess is that they were produced a while ago and have to be sold at the cheap price because what they are labled on the spd, though this does not reflect the quality of the ram.

Hey Snowman:

This memmory did 148 2-2-2 on your KT7-RAID? That's a good enough O/C for me!! Some guy on another post (here) shows on his signature that got some Kingmax tiny BGA 150 to do 166 cas2. I just said WTF!! He didn't have PM enabled so I couldn't talk to him. But that would require setting the FSB to 124 MHz (doubled pumped of course). I don't think I've ever seen a KT7 do over 115 or so...that still puts the memmory bus over 150.

I agree about the quality issue too...I'm simply stating that we should be careful about posting specs that are not backed up by the seller, reviews, or personal experience. One honest person saying I got 148 2-2-2 on my KT7 is often all I need to make a purchase.;):D

VM:

If these modules can consistently do 148 2-2-2 on a KT7 then this is a great deal (by consistent I mean all of the individual modules as a whole). Checked prices of comp. memmory at Memman ($85) and Mushkin ($104 advertised - 10% off with tweakmeister reference = $93).

well, as for 2-2-2 im realy not sure, i have looked for exactly what settings in the bios that requires and am at a bit of a loss. i know that the setting i use, turbo, is tRAS=6 tRP=2 tRCD=2, also cas delay is set to 2 and 4-way interlive is on. also i must turn on "delay DRAM read latch" to get the 2 sticks to work at above 105mhz, .5ns works fine but auto benchs a bit beter. so im not sure if its 2-2-2 or what, but its is keeping me happy.

as for the speed of my fsb, i get all sorts of windows errors at 112 regaurdless if the ram is at 112mhz or 150mhz, it would probably help if i did some work to the chipset cooler but i haven't bothered yet as it runs good at 8.5x110 and 8x117 seems iffy even with great cooling on the north bridge. my poor blue 750 just gets rounding errors at 8.5x111 so i guess it a 935 now, but with the fsb were it is it keeps up nicely. if anyone has a mean p3 setup in the kc aria and wants to see what this stuff can do, i'd be more than happy to try it.

the funny thing is the ram has been on pricewatch for months at 80$ a stick, i bought when i saw it drop to 75$ and i was priceing mushkin for about 45$ more. i figured it wasnt even a bad price for generic ram at the time so i could pass it off with little loss if i wasn't impressed. neadless to say the stuff is all i nead though. it does make me wonder were certin people on the for sale/for traid forum are geting their ram from though:)

btw, a bit off topic but if someone knows of some cold hard facts on the whole 2-2-2 2-3-2 and such please let me know. i understand the whole collumns and rows adress strobeing system, but im not sure exactly what is what in the x-x-x setup.

and lol mem@166 on a kt133 chip, i suppose if you stick it in a vat of liquid nitrogin:)

Hey, I have the Mosel ram and it does 157mhz cas222 on normal VIO voltage!
159 if you take the voltage higher!
I also know a guy who has his Tbird system on 125 fsb.
