Anybody pick this up yet? I can only assume that the increase in performance may be marginal considering when the first 64MB DDR Geforce came out after the original 32MB DDR Geforce.

I read a review of this recently, it's more of the same misdirection. It was the same or slower than a 64MB card.

exactly.......the 128mb is not for going to be taken advantage of in gaming......but 3d modeling programs will probably be able to utilize it. if yoiu have the money and yoiu do a lot of 3d modeling, it might be worth the extra $40.....imho

I just installed my Gainward 128mb GF3 "200" last night and was surprised to find that it came clocked at 200/450. And I don't mean by Gainward's drivers. They never touched my system. I loaded up 23.11's, and added coolbits to my reg, and wham, the cards BIOS had it set for 200/450 right out of the box.

From what I understood before I bought it, Gainward's drivers overclocked it, and if you didn't install them, you had to o/c it yourself.

Anyhow, I stepped it up to Ti500 levels, testing along the way, and it's rock stable. Not even a hiccup. I will push it a bit more once I get my other new stuff online and running.

Just wanted to let everyone know(brag), sorry if it's been said before. 🙂

All Gainward Golden Samples come slightly overclocked regardless of whether or not you use their drivers. It's in the Bios.

Hmm, I didn't know that. I thought it was in Gainward's drivers that o/ced it out of the box. Anyhow, I'm very pleased with it. I probably don't need the extra 64mb of memory, but who knows? Maybe I'll need it down the road. I know I won't be upgrading again anytime soon, and I like to get the most for my money.🙂

At one time, 64meg gf2's were slower then 32meg in a lot of the benchies. Maybe overtime the 128 will show its true colors. (get it TRUE COLORs, awe never mind lol!) But then I am sure when the new Doom arrives 128 might not be enuff! lol!
