Anyone know if these cards work with Nomad IIs? Would be nice to have 4x as much memory (I am still using the 32 mb card it came with)

<< This is a REALLY good price for 128 MB of SmartMedia.

But then again, you could buy TWO 64 MB cards from NewEgg for $34 each = $68.
>>

yea, but then you would have to carry around two SmartMedia cards. I dont like carrying around two cards for my Nomad IIc, so I got a 128MB for that, and for my Fujifilm 40i. They cost me $100 about a month ago

Yes it works with the firmware upgrade. Creative actually updates firmware. Too bad for my Rio500 owning friend :)

Too bad I lost my camera. Otherwise, I would've jumped on this hot deal. All's not lost though; still got my trusty free 35mm camera I got free from another thread.

what pisses me off, is that it appears creative isnt updating the nomad II original, without built in memory.
please point it out if im wrong

Doesn't look like the new firmware will help us Nomad II users with 0 MB built-in memory read 128MB smartmedia cards :(

This is a good price for a branded 128 Smart Media card. There is some debate on whether you will see any speed difference between a branded card and a generic like Mr. Flash (newegg). I personally think there is only a speed difference in Compact Flash because it has a built in controller from what I understand.

Then again, a cards speed is also going to depend on variables like your camera and card reader speed. I don't think you will see any sort of a difference personally.

BTW.. Where is the MIR info? Is the MIR still good? I'm also assuming free shipping?

Thanks,

Sal

Newegg has *refurbished* 64mb for $30 shipped. It works out to be $7 less than a new one.

The Olympus D-460 that I just got from the Target deal will only take up to 64mb disk.

I can't think of any reason not to buy this one. Anyone disagree?

Oh wow! A refurbished Smart Media card? How exactly would they do that? Put new foil on the plastic? I would look into buying something like this if it is refurbished. It might not be a good way to save $7.

Just a thought.

I got in on this deal today...thanks for the post. As for saving $7 for refurbed memory...well, there are a few things I will not purchase refurbed...hard drives and memory are two of them. Both are critical to system performance, and if either dies, you are SOL...:)

i just got in on this one also, had to call amazon.com to have them apply the code though

1 Viking 128 MB SmartMedia Card $109.99 1 $109.99

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Item Subtotal: $109.99
Shipping & Handling: $5.02
Promotional Certificate: $15.00
Total: $100.01

-$25 rebate once i get that makes $75 shipped for a 128mb smartmedia card an awesome deal. $7 is definitely something i'd pay for peace of mind.
