1280x960 resolution with a Radeon 8500?

Can anyone set their Radeon to run at 1280x960? The only resolutions that seem to be available near that in the control panel are 1280x768 and 1280x1024. My previous card was able to do that resolution just fine. I also found that the radeon Mac editions at 1280x960 too.
Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Some cards do not have the correct (4:3) 1280 x 960 setting in the drivers, so the way around this is to use a third party app like PowerStrip to create a custom resolution.

Like I was saying, try using PowerStrip to do this. It is a free app (if you don't mind looking at the tips upon bootup) and you can find it anywhere on the net. Just run a Google search for powerstrip.

PowerStrip is generally considered to be the best for this, but it is not free. It is shareware.

Thanks for the link Tenoc.

Mavrick007, found the website for powerstrip and saw a $30 price tag so I figured it was demoware. I'll be sure to check it out.

Thanks for correcting me mpitts. You're right, it's not free, you can use it without registering it if you don't mind looking at the tips upon bootup but you can also purchase it and register too like regular shareware (but it doesn't have a timeout feature like with some shareware apps).
