128 vs 256mb Video Memory

Since I'm still using a GeForce Ti-200 and a Matrox G400 and am looking at a 6600 GT, when does the extra
128mb video make a difference in gaming or just in general use? Is just in the latest games such as Doom 3
Half Life etc?

with games at high resolutions and with AA/AF. If ur gunna play at 800x600 with no AA/AF it probably wont make any difference, but at 10x7 or 12x10 with AA/AF it will make it run much smoother for the most part.

Not even 10x7 or 12x10... you really will only notice it in DIII Far Cry and HL2 when running 16x12 with AA and AF. Other than that not much of an increase.

256 MB definitely makes a difference in today's games but you need a decent card to back it. A 6600 GT should be OK.
