128 upload enough for games?

I plan on getting 1.5/128 dsl from covad for $50 mainly to play games...mainly planetside but some other games as well because in ps I'd hit the reload button and it would sit there for literally 30 seconds then it would reload...that's just how bad it can get with 56k...I obviously don't care about hosting a server so it's basically just to play games and download stuff...however how important is upload in games? and with a game like planetside where battles can be over a hundred people would 128 upload be sufficent?

Yes, it will. Totally agree with Sky! I had 512 upload and then my isp lowered it to 128. I can play and download, but am so pissed I cant host my Counter-Strike on linux for my friends!

128 is ok if you have one box playing games at a time. (well 2 boxes for many games, but then the ping starts to go up)

128 is fine...

i used to play MOHAA with my brother on the same server at the same time...for the purposes of having a few good laughs...(we got a network of 4 computers here)

both of us were LPB's on the server...

we had no problems


i only see problems with my ping when someone starts using Kazaa or something...

Yep, you are fine as long as you aren't using something else that sucks up your bandwidth (like any of the p2p networks)
