I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I'm interested in upgrading my system (in my sigbature) with a new video card and am not sure if I should go with a memory interface of 128bit or a 256bit. Can anyone clue me in on which is better.

Price really isn't an issue. I was also looking at an 8600 card but being it is 128bit I didn't think that was the way to go.

That x1950xt is faster in most games and 20 bucks cheaper.

edit: what resolution are u gaming at? If price isn't really an issue, why not a 8800gts 320 for 70 bucks more?

As you can see in this review, it's considerably faster. To get an idea of the x1950xt's performance, look at the x1900xt 256mb and add a few frames.

Is that X1950XT a Radeon processor? I don't know anything about those. I noticed that EVGA has a 7950 that is over clocked, what do you think about that?
I don't relly do a lot of gaming, but mostly RTS games and Autocad and Solidworks programs.

No, I don't think it's insufficient but lately the games I do play have been crashing. I thought it was time to replace it.

I have a 7950gt and it performs very well, its roughly x2 of my previous 6800gt, it will crush you're 6600 and put a smile on your face. At the same time the 8600gts is roughly the same price and performs slightly less in dx9 games now, yet will perform better in dx9 games that are more "shader" intensive in the future (just look at benchmarks of the two in stalker), and also has the option for 100% hd encoding, and dx10. Yet you say price is not that important, so hell, go for the 8800gts 320, its badasss!

I think then if it's adequate you could try to use driver cleaner to clean out all the drivers and install the latest drivers and motherboard chipset drivers. If your stability issue is solved you would be happy, then why spend the extra $ for performance you won't need?
