Thanks, jkings...I just ordered a 128mb PC100 168 pin DIMM for $60.01, delivered.
I will use this on a new S1598C2, running a AMD K6-III 333mhz.

Not bad for one piece of the rig that most agree needs, the very best!

:)

Sorry you paid more but there are better deals (for better RAM) in the For Sale/Trade forum. Just a suggestion :).

You can buy their 128 meg PC133 cas3 for $60 and run it at cas2 (2-2-2). You can do the same with their 256 meg for $128.

This is a great buy...I suggest anyone who is looking for a memory upgrade go with these as opposed to cheaper generic brands. I am running 2 sticks of these in my TBird 1GHz on a KT7-RAID MB. Runs great, everything is flying...

My Micron ram module has pc133 cas 3 chips on it. The spd was programmed for pc100 cas 2. Stuff runs @ pc133 cas 2 just fine.

Turb...

Excuse me... but running at under 133Mhz at cas2/2/2.... does not address anything.

We need to know if the cas 3 PC133 will DO 133Mhz at cas 2/2/2. Thanks.

Simply relating my experience with it. I figured adding at least a little insight was better than just simply wasting a post saying nothing. :) I dunno if it'll do cass 2 at 133, and don't really care. i won't be needing it anytime soon. I base my computer system on needs, not bragging rights.
Is anyone gonna notice in the real world between cas 2 and 3? I

Gee... I dunno either....

I spose a 17% increase in performance (ram performance) IS WORTH IT! (well to most people). But then again... I do think that speed is important, and have even been known to brag once in a while. :)

My point was only that your point ....... kind of missed the point.:D And I almost thought it was bragging... and I almost thought it was wasting a post. :D Now I'm doing it. (hate it when that happens).

Still would like to know if the Pc133 cas 3 does cas 2 (2/2/2).

but is anyone gonna notice that 17% ? When I asked the first time, it was a serious question. People like to brag about stats but in the real world a lot of things people "upgrade" to have very little actual affect, or at least enough to be noticed by a human. Kinda like when people run out and build a dual processor machine not knowing that for their application one processor is just sitting there doing nothing.

Again, my original post was for the people who don't actual need it to do cas2 at 130 since they are not running at 130 anyway.

Go figure....

I would have thought EVERYONE was running at at least FSB 133mhz here by now. I know I have been for the last 3 years. Bet if you took a poll you might be just a tad surprised.

The questions regarding the capability of this RAM were specifically if the cheaper PC133 Cas3 will do Cas222. If you did not think that important..... well.... then I guess that was the reason for your post.

Still would like to hear if the PC133 cas3 can run at cas2. And yes.
You can tell the difference, and some folks DO need dual processors.
And EVERYONE should overclock. And what else...... oh... I bet my computer can kick the shiznit out or your computer....lol :D

Now about that Ram...

Noxi...

That's not what I said now is it. I never said I was running "PC133" for the last 3 years. I said I was running at 133mhz FSB.

98... there was ram called PC100 (c'mon). Mushkin was quite capable of pushing 133mhz FSB, with their pc100. I have been overclocked at 133mhz for around 3 years now, as have many. This is getting a bit off topic. The question has been answered.

Yes apparently the Crucial PC133 cas 3 (cheaper), will do 133mhz at cas 222.

Thanks guys! :)
