127k on serpentine belt. Probably time to change it.

Neither of my cars have ever had belts replaced. Maxima has 127k and the MPV has 80k.

Other than the serpentine, what other belt ought to be changed? Both have timing chains, not belts, btw.

Thanks!

If you don't have a timing belt, I don't know of any other belts there are other than the serpentine belt. Some cars may have a separate belt for the AC but most don't.

Mazda stealership sold me a serpentine but said the only other belt is for the water pump and normally they don't recommend replacing that unless the pump is done.

I will do the two belts on my max, but damn they actually look really good. I can't believe they have 127k on them. I could only see the top from the angle I looked at but it looked absolutely fine.

The top isn't where you'll typically notice wear - you'd see it on the inside of the belt. Unless the belt was splitting...but then it would be obvious. 😛
