someone sent me a *.123 file... which is an old version of lotus.
and obviously, i don't have lotus in my computer.
i tried to locate some converters...
but that i came up without a lead.

my excel xp doesn't natively support lotus' .123 file.
.wk? yes... but not .123

:(

does anyone know how i can conver .123 file into .xls?... without having to have lotus?

any help would be appreciated.

We have both Lotus123 97 ed and Excel 2000 here at my office. The only way I have been able to get a .123 file over to Excel is to:

Pull up the .123 file in Lotus123, go to FILE, Save As, from the drop down box select .wk1 file type. Save it.
Fire up Excel and open the .wk1 file I saved and it opens up. It will not open .123 "workbooks" as you found.

If you don't have a copy of Lotus123, I have no idea how you can import it. Perhaps you can find someone who has it and ask them to open the file and save it as a .wk1 file for you on a floppy or email it as an attachement.
