For the first time I saw a 120Hz TV with a blu-ray player connected and I was astonished at how smooth the video playback was. With my current TV, you can tell the video is "stuttering" especially during camera movement. None of that was apparent here. For reference the 120 Hz TV was a Samsung 650 model.

I've noticed that apparently no plasmas have this feature right now, but it really seems to fix this issue I have noticed. Am I associating the correct reasoning for this improvement or am I missing something here?

I have seen plasmas that do 72Hz for film, allowing for 3:3 cadence instead of 3:2 which fixes the juddering you are referring to. Not sure why they don't go to 120Hz but Im not sure if their response time is fast enough maybe?

One thing to note is 120Hz has alot of meanings.

It could be simply 5:5 pulldown for film.
It could be 60Hz with black frame insertion
It could be 24Hz or 60Hz with varying motion interpolation (the most popular these days)

The motion interpolation is the effect that I think you are enjoying, as it creates a smooth video like appearance from almost any source, though it adds a small amount of latency and possibility of artifacting. Aside from response times not being fast enough, I am not sure why this has not been tried on a Plasma.
