I've read that the newer lcd's are pretty good for not ghosting but I was wondering if the 120hz lcd's that are going to come out over the next couple of years will eliminate it entirely?

The "120hz" LCDs have already been out for a while (this is a misnomer, as they aren't 120hz at all). They're supposed to have slightly improved response times, but they achieve that by displaying black frames between every real frame, which is similar to seeing 60hz flickering on a CRT. I think most people prefer to just turn off the whole feature, which those monitors allow you to do.

as noted above, the 120Hz home theater LCD's don't magically make the pixels refresh any faster, which is ultimately what we want. its simply using an algorithm that inserts black frames or interpolates between the two frames and adds a best guess image of what should be inbetween the frames.

you'll only see a benefit for movie watching.

personally i think we've hit the physical limit on how fast we can get LCD pixels to refresh. we just have to wait until better technology comes along.
