1200nf, is this normal or is it a problem?

I've just noticed today, on my Samsung 1200nf, In the lower right quarter of the screen I have a series of lines spaced really close to each other that are lighter than the rest of the area of the monitor. They run Vertically , This accurs in area of approximately 1 inch. wide x 5 in. high. Mostly noticeble on white.
I tried different resolutions, different refresh rates and it's still there.
Any ideas what this might be?

I' don't know what it is, or why it's there......but I do know mine has never done it so you may want to make a call......😉

You can hit it on the side with an open hand......I've heard of this correcting things, I've personally never done it though........could be kind of embarrassing if you really mess something up and then try and RMA it......... 🙁

Yeah, could be really sad, imagine the screen splitting in half? lol
I'll try hitting it carefully and gently when I get home today. After all
it's pretty expensive.

Id3dwiz,
I'm thinking of getting this monitor also and was wondering how clear and define is the text at say 768x1024 at 85HZ'S? Is the text as sharp in the corners as at the center---obviously text clarity at all points on the screen is VERY important to me--thanks!

I've got a 1200NF and I do CAD work..........I can definately say it one of the best I've ever used!😉

Well, I banged it couple of times. Some really strange noice came from inside. LOL looks like it's not there anymore.
🙂 thank you guys.
I also think 1200nf is a great monitor. I also do some CAD work, but I rarely do it at home. So far it's seams like it's good for any purpose. I recommended my friend the 19 inch version, when he got it he called me and was so excited LOL...

hehe, it's gone whohoooo hope it's not coming back LOL

Well a little late, but slapping the beast really does work, it says to do it right in the manual.

"Minor condition caused by grille element overlap which can occur during shipping.
Slap sides with open hand after monitor is warm.
That fails position white window and max bright and contrast for localized heating."
Above paraphrased from 900NF manual.

My 900NF was like that when I got it, via UPS of course.

My ViewSonic PF815 needs that every so often too. Usually after a LAN party after its ride home, or before it form the ride there.
