I need to know if the ASUS P5Q Deluxe (LGA 775 Intel P45 Motherboard) can take both:
  • DDR2 1066
    DDR2 1200
On Newegg Website - it shows only
Memory Standard - DDR2 1200

On ASUS Website - it shows
Memory Features
Dual-Channel DDR2 1200
The motherboard supports DDR2 memory that features data transfer rates of 1200/1066/800/667 MHz to meet the higher bandwidth requirements of the latest operation system, 3D graphics, multimedia, and Internet applications. The dual-channel DDR2 architecture doubles the bandwidth of your system memory to boost system performance, eliminating bottlenecks with peak bandwidths of up to 19.2GB/s

DOES THIS MEAN THAT (from the ASUS site):
  • You can tweak your System to handle 1200/1066/800/667 MHz
    or
Physically use these different MHz kits

Thanks
p.s. this will be used with Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450

When Newegg lists a memory standard, it's the fastest speed the motherboard will accept, not the only speed. That motherboard (as with most) will choose an appropriate speed based on the CPU and RAM you're using.

If you're not overclocking, stick to DDR2-800 or DDR2-667. (DDR2-800 would be my choice, since it's just about as cheap and keeps your options open.) If you are overclocking, DDR2-1000 will give you enough headroom for any processor out there and is less expensive than DDR2-1066 or DDR2-1200.
