$1200 budget >42" TV. Help!

I'll be sitting about 12 or so feet away, so looking for an LCD (LED?) that's about 46" or bigger. Best bang for the buck for 1200.00 USD. Doesnt need to be internet ready and I'm unsure of this passive 3D business. Just looking for the best size/image quality for the money at this price point.

Right now looking suggestions to start my search off.

At that distance from the screen, you're going to want all the size you can get.

The Vizio E552VL probably wouldn't be a bad choice, especially at $1049.

If you want something LED, the Samsung UN46D6300 is a fine choice.

Another option is the 50" Panasonic ST30 plasma TV. This one will have the best PQ assuming your room isn't super-bright.

If you're willing to trade features/PQ for size, you can also move down the line somewhat. The low-end 60" plasmas (Samsung PN60D530 and Panasonic 60S30) end up just over your price range, though.

the panny 55 ST 30 is currently $1330 on amazon. if you can stretch your budget it would be IMO the TV to buy provided the room it will be going in isnt super bright with no window shades

Seconded. The ST line of plasmas from Panasonic has gotten excellent reviews and this is about as good a deal as you can get.
