I have an enermax 350 watt power supply. I'm running a soyo dragon + w/ athlon xp 1800+. There is a ite smartguardian software that was included with my mb. It monitors cpu temp, case temp, and voltages. My temps are 41,23 repspectively. For some reason my +12 voltage drops down to 10 something at random times. As a result the program beeps. The voltage is at around 12.28 on a regular basis. Is there a problem?

Hi!

When the 12v rail drops heavily are you using CDROM/DVD or other periferial in any way ? As much as I know the 12V is used to power up those devices.
It could be the powersuply, but I do not know yours...

Cheers,

I had the same problem a year or two back with an Asus CUBX in an Inwin case and Powerman PS and the supplied monitoring software. I was able to confirm that there was in fact a voltage drop with my trusty Fluke. After replacing the PS the problem still persisted and it was annoying. I checked each unit that used 12v (CD-ROM etc) and even dropped in and loaded up a spare hard drive. Still there .. so I uninstalled the the monitoring software! .. it had to be the motherboard as there was nothing else left but the computer was in service and seemed to work just fine so I said the heck with it. The computer still works fine!
