12" Notebook Shopping

I'm currently shopping for a 12" portable size notebook, and have a budget of $1500. What I narrowed down to is the Sony V505EX, or Asus M5N according to the specs I'm looking for. And I wanted one with the optical dvd drive built in, not as seperate attachment.

Sony V505EX Best price: $1679 After $100 rebate
Con: small video memory

Asus M5N
Best price: $1498 with 1.5Ghz/512Ram/60Gb setup
Con: short battery life (with default 24 WHr battery pack)

Please give me some inputs which should I get? Anyone had any experience with these two lappy? Or I should I get something else for that price?

The sony one actually has much better video than the asus.

The sony has ati 9200 while the asus has intel graphics...

The Asus one is significantly lighter than the sony one. The sony one seems pretty heavy for a 12" laptop as the IBM t-series is only like half a pound more for 14" screen.

The asus also uses micro-sodimm for it's ram which is uncommon.
