Yemeni military officials say a U.S. drone strike has killed six suspected Al Qaeda militants.
They say Saturday's attack took place near the border of Marib and Shabwa provinces southeast of the capital Sanaa.

In the past two weeks, Yemeni officials say U.S. drone strikes have killed at least three senior Al Qaeda operatives in the country's south.

I would rather they recanted their ways and became peaceful, but this is the second best option.

The death count is now up to 12, I have edited the thread title.

Two suspected U.S. drone strikes killed 11 al-Qaida militants in southern Yemen on Saturday, Yemeni military officials said.
The first attack took place near the border of Marib and Shabwa provinces southeast of the capital, Sanaa, killing six militants, including one Egyptian national, the officials said. The second strike hit two cars in Marib, killing five al-Qaida-linked fighters.

Intelligence, working with nations, special forces, and nontraditional weapons/tactics. These are the things we can and should do... large-scale occupations and nation building, not so much.

And cancel the damn F-35, yesterday.

Ah, ok. I thought it was being designed for anti-terrorism missions or something strange.

Most of what you hear from the CIA is a lie although they did admit that they dressed up as bin laden.

Why do you persist in spouting such BS.

You might have potential as a fringe idea poster with some of your ideas;questions.
Then you come out with this. :(

they dressed up as bin laden.
For those not familiar with what is mentioned here, see this Washington Post article, specifically:

The agency actually did make a video purporting to show Osama bin Laden and his cronies sitting around a campfire swigging bottles of liquor and savoring their conquests with boys, one of the former CIA officers recalled, chuckling at the memory. The actors were drawn from “some of us darker-skinned employees,” he said.

Funny how an agency who can't seem to prevent its former employees from running off at the mouth to the media is engaging in all these massive conspiracies, staging 9/11, assassinating Kennedy, pretending to kill OBL, etc. If they can't contain the minor conspiracies, they couldn't contain the major ones either. Another reason they'd never take such risks.

Funny how a small dose of fact throws you into a hissy fit of nonsense. More sad really.

Well your suggestion that the CIA would never engage in massive conspiracies is easily refuted by referencing Operation Gladio. That said, I don't believe the CIA was behind 9/11, nor either Kennedy assassination, and while I'm not one to take our establishment at its word regarding the death of OBL, I've no reason to insist it's a ruse either.

I'm glad we're making a dent in AQ by using drones. It's far better than sending in forces to do it. I hope we kill them all.

Slowly but surely, we will.

Man, I'm so glad we never kill innocent people by mistake. Oh wait, we do.

Oops, 16 year old US citizen killed

Oops, 168 kids killed in Afghanistan

Yup, wonder how many real terrorists were killed? And I wonder how many new "terrorists" were created by the families of the dead children....kill a terrorist or two, create 5 more! Brilliant!

Especially since the CIA/military can bomb anyone, even if they don't know who they are....anyone fitting the profile of a terrorist can get killed. I'm sure the CIA will never make mistakes and kill the wrong people. After all, it's not like they were wrong about like 80% of all the people in Gitmo. All those "worst of the worst" terrorists that acutally were innocent and lots were let go.

link

The United States has begun launching drone strikes against suspected al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen under new authority approved by President Obama that allows the CIA and the military to fire even when the identity of those who could be killed is not known, U.S. officials said.

Congressional officials have expressed concern that using signature strikes would raise the likelihood of killing militants who are not involved in plots against the United States, angering Yemeni tribes and potentially creating a new crop of al-Qaeda recruits.

So I guess the government really wants to keep the war going, by creating more terrorists. Good to see we are creating more terrorists just to make sure we can keep this war going.

Um... they kill people who might expose their biggest secrets. I don't think they directly did 9/11 either, but there is a good case to be made that they assassinated JFK.

Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods

12 AQ, 120, five million, it doesn't mean anything to me anymore when some supposed terrorists of unknown origin or motivations are killed by a drone somewhere doing something. I really don't know what to think of it. I've heard the real population of al quada may be as little as a few hundred. Does that mean the operations against them have been wildly successful or that they were always blown up as more dangerous than they really were? I imagine some of both.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2010/06/cia-at-most-50100-al-qaeda-in-afghanistan/

Now this says no more than 500 in pakistan and afghanistan:
http://afpak.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2010/07/01/how_many_members_does_al_qaeda_have

But that
Al-Qaeda has never had more than "several hundred" formal members according to a 2005 Century Foundation report authored by Richard Clarke and others in position to assess the organization prior to 9/11.

So really it means nothing to hear some supposed guys in some country somewhere who may or may not be al queda, who make or may not even know how to read who may or may not have any chance in hell of blowing up more than a tin can are killed by a drone strike.

1-2 AQ leaders (snake head); 20-30 followers(locals)/cannon fodder that dislike the current government or something else who can be used to channel hatred/egos

Start with those numbers around and there is a large mass.

Still waiting for you to admit you lied or put up your proof about the forums (which is impossible as it does not exist). This will not go away, so you might as well fess up and admit you are a liar.

LOL troll...truth hurts, huh? You can't comment on your own OP?

Can you comment on how you still believe in Iraqi WMD?

Can you comment on how you believe Victory Mosques being built in NYC?

Can you comment on your Bigotry?

Can you comment how you believe a general dead for 50+ years still knows more then we do know, given we have 50+ years of historical reserach that wasn't available?

Keep on trolling.....maybe you will grow up and move out from under the bridge one of these days.

All those posts, and you always are unable to present any proof or evidence to support all the BS you post.

Is there a point to this incoherent rant? Did I mention Bush anywhere?
