??? Are you talking about the Retina Pro?The price jumps up a lot adding a 256gb ssd. Might as well get the 2.6 ghz model then for 1499 since it comes standard with 8gb of ram.
??? Are you talking about the Retina Pro?
Because all current Retina Pros have 8 GB RAM minimum.
If you're talking about the US$1099 model, that's not Retina, and it's also several years old now, so it's kinda pointless to get that one in 2014.
If Retina Pro, I'm not sure what you're talking about then, because all already have 8 GB.Yea the retina pro. I would not get the older model as I could probably find one used if I wanted. 8gb should be fine for at home development for fun, not sure if I really need 16gb.
A refurbished late 2013 pro will still be a good product. I mean when they sell overstock of old, HDD driven, non retina models. The inch thick ones.If Retina Pro, I'm not sure what you're talking about then, because all already have 8 GB.

I find it amazing that some stores (apple even?) were selling early 2012 macbook pros in early 2014. Are they still doing this?
Because it's not cool and it's misleading to the consumers. I know best buy does it.
The June 2012 non-Retina MacBook Pro is still a "current model". That's the $1099 model. They have them on display at the Apple Store.
Not ideal, but then again, its screen, despite being non-Retina, is still quite a bit better than the MacBook Airs' screens.

I suspect that June 2012 MacBook Pro will be finally discontinued with the release of the 12" MacBook Retina. These are the specs I'm looking for:That's awful.
Maybe they will say something tomorrow. Perhaps with thew new models the rest of the lineup could be discounted as well. I do agree for the $1099 older version that it's a bit too much. Windows laptops now come close to it but then again a similar style Windows notebook is about the same price.

So, how would the performance of a 1.1 GHz Core M 5Y70 (Broadwell) compare to the 1.4 GHz Core i5-4260U (Haswell)?
I'm assuming the older one would be faster for CPU, but not by a tremendous amount.

Dunno about the GPU, but they're named HD 5300 (Broadwell) and HD 5000 (Haswell).

You might also want to look at the refurb store. You can get the 2013 model Pro Retina 13" with 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM for $1189.

I brought in my mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13" with Yosemite to watch the live stream, and the battery does drop quite fast off the plug.
That's one of the other things I need in a new machine - insanely long battery life. That way I can probably stop carrying around a power plug as well.
I had almost been tempted to buy a second power adapter for my workplace, until I remembered that this laptop is too heavy to carry around all the time anyway.
I dusted off my 2010 11" MBA... man, the battery on that thing is so BAD. It's about 2-2.5 hours depending on use.
