12500 to buy a new (used) car? or 3000 to fix up the 84 camry? (complete rebuild, almost all new suspension.. new car... slightly used. 😉)

well?

350.

Ths is a stupid thread. No need to fix the piece of crap up, save your money until the Camry dies. Any other move is financially stupid.

If that was every 18 y/os dream then ricers wouldn't exist.

i wouldnt call an 84 camry with no external mods and 300 hp "riced", though. 😉

Where did I say what you would be doing, was ricing. I was merely pointing out the fact that it isn't ever 18 y/os dream to have a muscle car.

i didnt. sorry if i was unclear on that. 🙂

I'm a little confused here. Last I checked the Camry was produced by Toyota which (and correct me if I'm wrong here) is a Japanese company.

What's wrong with Japanese cars? I like them (although their styling is starting to get a little iffy).

they're decent cars.

but when i go to my campus, almost every single car is either a honda, toyota, or SUV.

it's really annoying.

i want a muscle car still 😉

well, for one thing, postcount++

for another thing, i'm bored and there's not much to do at 12:42 in the morning.

lastly, it's something i've been thinking about, so by writing it out it helps me, and it also helps me by people post about obvious errors in my judgement. (which i have alot of)

Alright, here's how I feel on this subject. I think it makes far more sense to buy a newer car for $3,000. (You still live with your parents, right?) This ensures that you'll have money should any unexpected problem befall your car. There are plenty of cars out there that are better than an 84 Camry even if the Camry has mods for $3,000.
