12.5 FPS on downloaded avi's?

I just started downloading some videos and they didn't look right. Started Virtual Dub and they all show 12.5 FPS. Did I just get unlucky on 4 in a row, or do I not have a codec installed properly? I'm new at this, so please be kind. 😉
