12 - 4oz Steaks and 12 burgers for $30

I found this from Gunn's Deals

STEAK!!!

Omaha Steaks has 12 steaks and 12 burgers for $30 before shipping. I live in Orange County and had the shipping come out to $11. I've never had any of these and was never even considering trying them because of the prices. But with this deal I am considering it. That's a lot of meat for $41! Has anyone ever had them?

So you're paying $10/lb + shipping for sirlion?

Oh wait..forgot the free burgers...3lb of burger that is worth what? $3/lb?

So that's better...but still abtou $7/lb for frozen sirlion..... hmmm

Seems kinda pricey.....

I think I could fit a 4oz steak in one cheek like a wad of tobacco. 😛

Nice find for the Omaha addicts.

Agreed, you can probably get better, cheaper sirloin from your local butcher.

I never understood mail-order, or back-of-truck steak deals.
It's never good meat (4oz sirloins...LOL) and when you do the math, per lb, it's not even a good deal. Thats just me I guess...

I live in Norwalk, CT and our Costco sucks ass - too crowded and rarely have any of the good deals that I see at other Costco's.

The main reason we go is to stock up on animals. Racks of lamb, packs of chicken, pork tenderloins - but the absolute best thing there is their steaks. Like Macro2 said - the NY Strips rock. We have lots of other places around to get meat - including some fancy butchers and "The World's Largest Dairy Store" (where do you think those old diary cows go ;-)), but everyone can tell when we bought Costco steaks.

PS - try a little Montreal seasoning mix or even some salt and pepper on your steaks - DO NOT SLATHER THEM IN BBQ SAUCE - THAT'S AN ORDER!

When I lived in Manhatten Beach, Costco's was the ONLY place to get a good steak. You wouldn't think, but I do agree.

No Costco's here in Ohio, but Giant Eagle, and local Butchers have great steaks around here.

My favorive: 1-inch thick Black Angus Porterhouse!

never good meat? you are one ignorant fool

Their meat is great. I was about ready to jump all over this b/c their meat is soo delicous but I saw the thread, I thought this deal was for fillets. Not that great of a price for sirlions if you have a good butcher in the area.

Oh, the irony.

I always thought Omaha steaks tasted 'gamey' and too pungeant for just plain meat. I forget which magazine (either Wired or Men's Health) described their steaks as 'metallic' tasting.

I think local butcher steaks are much better than mail-order steaks.

Plus, you can go to a local butcher and pick out exactly the cut of meat you want.. Omaha steaks are sometimes inconsistent. We had a batch of sirloins from them that were tougher than frozen Starbursts one month.. and then another batch sirloins that were as tender as day-old cereal.
