Could this be the beginning of the Bush Administration all being brought on charges?

It's certainly looking like it.

What took so long?

Was it because Republicans had a lock on every nook, cranny and corner of the United States?

Why would anyone that loves this Country and The Constitution think for a second this was a good thing?

12-14-2008 NYT wiretap source revealed

When the New York Times published its investigation of the NSA?s warrantless wiretap program, the paper ignored President Bush?s request to hold off on revealing details of the secret program.

In an Oval Office meeting, Bush gave the following message to Executive Editor Bill Keller: ?You?ll have blood on your hands.?

The source told him of turmoil within the Justice Department concerning counterterrorism operations and the FISA court. "Whatever is going on, there's even talk Ashcroft could be indicted," the source told Lichtblau, according to his book.

Bush is going to have a real hard time getting re-elected. But the upside to this is at least it will help resolve the current economic trouble we are in and restore 10's of thousands of jobs.

 I'm blaming OPEC on this one. I'm not sure how I'll be able to afford $13 gas next week though :(

We should pool money for him to see a shrink.

It's called "Accountability," something you righties have generally been quite vocal about ... when the target has a (D) after his name. It's funny how magnanimous you suddenly become when it's Republican wrong-doing under discussion.

Talk is cheap; actions speak louder than words. When one looks at the history of your posts, they are have consistently slanted to the right. The point remains that holding the Bush administration accountable for its actions is about justice and the American rule of law. Only the apologists and die-hard partisans think the fact he's no longer running for office is in any way relevant, or the fact that we now have other problems in some way lets BushCo off the hook for what they've done.

Last time I looked at my job title it wasn't "US Attorney". So yes, talk is cheap. There is nothing that I can do about this issue, and I'd rather not waste my time speculating.

If Ashcroft was behind violations of the law, he should be held accountable, but I still hope Ashcroft is not the first indicted. In the grand scheme of things, Ashcroft did stand up to GWB&co regarding abuses of law, and was fired for his troubles. And then a real rat named Gonzales replaced him and the abuses at the AG level became far worse. If there is any justice, Gonzales should be indicted before Ashcroft.

And as an aside, I am for freedom of speech, I think dmcowen674 has every right to post what is a legitimate thread, and there is something deeply wrong with trying to shout him down. Its not a matter of agreeing with him, as I frequently disagree with his opinion, but we can't be a free forum if we do not accept anyone's right to post!

LOL. Bless your little pea pickin' heart Dave, you do try.

No, Obama is going to have so many fucking problems to deal with that this little agenda item is simply not going to happen. Don't bother to hold your breath.

Yes, most of the Bushies ought to be strung from lamp posts the way Charles II did after The Restoration, but this isn't 17th century England or the Soviet Union, and as I've said before Obama has no stomach for these kinds of battles.

If it were me, I'd be like Sherman with the Republicans. They'd be burned to the ground and take 1,000 years to come back.

Remember that if you wipe out the Republicans, then the Dems will have free reign with no accountability either.

It is the lack of accountability to a politician that is dangerous, not the party symbol beside their name.

So you're finally admitting the full control free reign the Republicans had from 2001 to 2006 was not a good thing?

Do you even know what the Darwin Award is?

Yes, I do. Next question.

So why did you use it totally inappropriately? Hit the wrong macro?

He is trying to turn it around and make it look like TallBill was too dumb to see the way he used the phrase. "Next question," as if it were obvious and didn't need explaining. But very clearly he does not understand its meaning and I find it amusing to see him dig himself in a deeper hole here.

Haha I came in here to post that :p Really, it's getting annoying to read a bunch of posts with numbers in front of them, especially considering the amount of davespam recently.

The forum itself is annoying.. I wish there was less toleration of idiots. From this guy to techs to winnar11, there are plenty of intelligent people here to discuss things with but it just gets bogged down into partisan stupidity. Then you get a post like this which generates a lot of replies, so if you bring up a genuine rebuttal of the OP's point it is simple enough for him to address only the worst arguments he has received, ignoring yours, and the thread will then continue on for pages among the worst of debaters. The basic problem of this forum is that anyone making a dumbass comment can pick and choose which rebuttal to respond to, which obviously gives the dumbass more power and makes this a forum dominated by idiots.

Winner winner chicken dinner. P&N needs different rules, but I don't see it happening. I've sent all the pm's/emails necessary to voice almost exactly this opinion and never even got a response. It definitely fails as a place for serious discussion.

Generally Republicans are all sheep following the sheeple herder. Dems are cats, each will do as he/she damn well chooses, which is why the Republicans have been so effective at gutting all of America's values, and the Dems have been so ineffective at reversing the evils of Republican administrations.

The Dems need to enforce party discipline. Something like: "The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves." Anyway, look what those wusses did for Lieberman. LOL! The Republicans would have put a bullet between his eyes.
