Not likely.The market would most likely not justify it - you'd have to read text with a magnifying glass. :)

I have a 10.6" notebook with a 1280x768 screen and a 15.4" with a 1920x1200 screen. Both of those have approximately twice the pixel density that a 12.1" at 1024x768 has... trust me, there's a market. ;-)

there are 12" widescreen laptops with 1280 x 800 screens (dell 700m, asus w5a etc.)

it's probably not that bad. 1400x1050 on a 12.1" is only slightly dense than the machines i have. you probably aren't going to find a 15.4" WUXGA (1920x1200) laptop on display, but your local compusa probably has the T150/T250 which is a 10.6" at 1024x768, go check it out, you might be surprised.
