11300 On 3DMark06. Is that good enough?

Thanks mate. Glad to find a nice hardware forum. I attempted to overclock it but i kinda failed. I raised the FSP up to 300 but none of the DRAM clock speeds matched were suitable. I couldn't change the ram speed incrementally. Maybe there is a bios update for this as i know that people have done it.

You should read the guide, then. Most likely, you just didn't lower your RAM speed, and your RAM couldn't handle the overclock.

I get 12.500 OC'ing my Video card below. I'm sure you can do better with a GTX. I OC'ed my CPU to 3.0 for that test too :) Someday may cooling solution will get sorted and Ill go above that!

Also, i used one of the Asus AI tools and stuck it at 110% and it didn't POST. Considering people have overclocked to 3Ghz on stock fans etc on this board, i'm surprised it didn't work. The reason i came to this forum is because of that sticky. I followed it and the gave up when my BIOS (which is the same type) didn't have the same DRAM frequencies. Any thoughts on why the frequencies wheren't available? There was only 5 options and none of them seemed very logical.

Cheers,

Hi there.

Post some pics of your bios, & we can likely help.

Keep in mind that RAM runs in ratios which calculate speeds based on the FSB.

Easiest ratio to run is 1:1, or what may be worded as 266 or 533.

IOW, the RAM runs the same speed as the FSB.

So if you were to bump the FSB to 333 (9x333 = 2997 MHz), you'd have the RAM running @ DDR2-667.

Obviously you have RAM capable of running alot higher that is basically designed for the informed overclocker, but no knowledge of how to set it up properly.

But for now, it's easier to just set it to something nice & easy, & worry about clocking it closer to its rated speeds later, once CPU has been increased.
