1122 3dmark06 score, a little too low

I ran 3dmark06, but I had to run each set of tests (sm2, sm3/hdr, cpu) seperately because it crashes if i try to run them all together.

I added up my scores:
CPU - 605
sm2.0 - 282
sm3/hdr - 235
Total - 1122

While thats not horribly low, it is lower than it should. Most people with the same setup get at least 1400. I'm running on the XG 83.20 drivers

What could be causing the low score? Is it higher if it runs through all the tests at once compared to seperately?

If all your games are running as they should, then I wouldnt worry about 3dmock.

I don't get this whole with 3DMark deal, its a useless benchmarking tool, its best uses are watching overclock gains (and even that is a useless appliance) and stressing GPU for artifact scanning.

I guess to get the 3dmark score, it doesnt add those 3 up. I got similar results, and it actually ran the whole test for once...got a score of 693

Something isn't right. Everything runs right except 3dmark06...in fact, it ran like it did on my cousins system (similar specs too) and he got 1490...wtf.

Update: apparently if I up my AGP aperture size, it might fix my issues. Anyone know of software that can change this? It's locked in my BIOS :(

if your card is 256mb, then use 128. As for for you, hans030390, make sure your agp bus is set to 8x, it will have an adverse effect on your card's performance if it's at 4x. Is it just 3dmark06 that's running out of whack, or is it your other benchies/games as well?

This AGP 4x/8x thing simply isn't true.

Everything else is running fine, as far as i know. I though 3dmark06 was running fine until I got a crappy score. So for all I know, perhaps my other games aren't running as well as they could.

I guess there aren't any programs out that can change it...I saw some editor that could change your BIOS, but there was no support/patch for it to be able to change my agp aperture on my setup.

I just helped someone else who tried everything, and it turned out to be his agp bus setting. I just thought i'd mention it, just in case. He went from around 1500 with a 6800gs to 4500 in 3dmark05, just by changing his bus from 4x to 8x. So, simply, it is true.
