What happend to the," These chips will not do 1300+MHz?"
>>

They usually don't in my experience. Exceptions exist and their not rare, but it's certainly far from the average.

There are always a few extreme examples. That doesn't mean that guy has a stable setup, nor is it typical of what most CPU's can do.

Like was said there seems to be a two chips with SL5QV status. Some that do 1200MHz tops and some that will do 1333+MHz. Seems there is little in between so far. They have been getting the good 1000e overclockers at enpc.com.

I think it is ironic that everyone used to scream that intel can't make a .18u PIII chip that can do over 1200MHz. With the old 1000e cCO you were guarenteed to never hit 133FSB. You were lucky to even hit 120fsb. What Intel did different is beyond me.

<< I would be uncomfortable using 1.9V on my p3! >>

Whatever, I ran my PIII at 1.9v for about 9 months. I had good air cooling on it and the temps never went above 35 deg. C at load. It was quite too. I sold it too a freind and now he has it running about the same configuration.

The only reason I can see people being uncomfortable with 1.9v on a PIII is if they are using a gorb or some other HS which is not good for OC'ing. I have seen some use 2.0v or even 2.1v for extended amounts of time with a PIII. As long as you have good cooling you should be fine.
