Asus Probe says my temp is around 55C. Is that bad or good? I'm using the stock HSF that came with my Duron. Should I leave it at this, or should I turn it back down a notch before I burn my chip out?

If that is the max you get under extreme load, then you should have nothing to worry about, you will not burn out your chip. But it is high, and indicates your cooling is not too good.

The case temp might be the solution as the temp is littl' on the edge. What kind of case temp do you get?

Your temp is probably ok.

I downloaded this utility and it read about 8 degrees C lower than Probe so I asked about it here and was told Probe was well known for giving false high readings. Another problem with Probe is that it reports false voltage fluctuations.

Here are my temps.
This is on a MSI KT7 Pro2a (2.5 bios)
Duron 700 @ 920 (8x115)

SiSoft Readings
System Temp 21-22c
CPU Temp 32c and Full Load 39-40c

I'll say at 10c to my readings (i don't trust the readings) so i'm at 50c full load. If you temps are 55c at 10c your at 65c... that's pretty high but i think the duron can stand temps much higher than that. btw, i'm using the taisol w/sunon fan. I'm in canada that's why my system temps are low... spring weather has yet to arrive :(
